Captain Richard Sheppard grew up in New Jersey. He has been boating since he was around 11 years old on the Barnegat Bay, sailing Sun Fish and small power boats. Many years off shore and coastal sailing in boats from 24' to 43' Richard and his First Mate Maureen met and have been boating together for over 25 years. They belonged to the Laurelton Yacht Club, where they were married in 1997. They moved to Palm Beach Florida in 2002 and became members of the Palm Beach Sailing Club. Richard and Maureen have been chartering down in the Caribbean for many years.
